Frequently Asked Questions

Enrollment

What are your hours?

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:45 -5:15. We are closed for all major holidays, 2 weeks for Christmas break, and a few other days throughout the year.  Parents get a schedule of the dates we are closed for the year each September.

What are your tuition rates?

As of July 2026, monthly tuition is $1,050 for children ages 12–36 months and $940 for children ages 36 months and older. Tuition is based on an average of 20 open days per month. Some months include more than 20 open days, while others include fewer; however, tuition remains the same each month regardless of the number of days we are open. Refunds are not provided for days your child does not attend.

Can I schedule a tour?

After we have your contact information, we will schedule a time to come in for a tour.

What ages do you serve?

We serve children ages 18 months - 6 years. If a currently enrolled child has a younger sibling, we will take the sibling at 12 months.

How do I join the waitlist and how does
it work?

To join the waitlist, please send us an email or text with your child’s name and birthdate, along with your name and contact information. Waitlist priority is based on several factors, including whether a sibling is already enrolled, the number of children needed in each age group, and the date your child was added to the waitlist.

Do you offer part time care?

At this time, we offer full-time care only. Children are not required to attend every day, but tuition remains the same because enrollment reserves your child’s spot.

Daily Program

What does a typical day look like?

Our schedule changes with the seasons. Breakfast is served at 9:00, lunch at 12:00, and snack at 2:30. During fall, winter, and spring, children are divided into younger and older groups. Each group has morning group time, centers, art, and gym time. Afternoons include nap or rest time, a second group time for older children, and outdoor play. In the summer, we spend our mornings outside for art, centers, and reading time. Children do not have any screen time.

How much time do children spend outside?

Outdoor time varies by season. When the weather is pleasant, we go outside from 9:30–12:00 and again from 2:30–4:00. In the winter, we typically go outside from 2:30–4:00. Children under age 3 may come inside earlier if they are uncomfortable.

Do you go outside in bad weather?

We dress children for the weather and go outside most days. Parents are responsible for providing weather-appropriate clothing to keep their child comfortable.

What meals and snacks are provided?

We have breakfast at 9, lunch at 12, and snack at 2:30. We are part of the child nutrition program and serve healthy meals and snacks.

What should my child bring each day?

Each child needs to bring a change of clothes each day. Because we do a lot of art and messy play, an extra set of clothing should stay in their cubby. In the summer, each child needs to bring a swimsuit daily. In the winter, each child needs to bring snow clothes and boots. We provide all food, diapers, and wipes. Children may bring a toy from home on Mondays and a small stuffed animal each day for nap or rest time.

Do children nap every day?

Children have rest time every day.  Children who do not nap have a

20-minute quiet time where they lay still on their cots and 20 additional minutes of time where they can look at books or use a drawing tablet.

Our Philosophy

What educational philosophy do you follow?

Our approach is inspired by the best of several respected early childhood philosophies, including nature-based learning, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf. Rather than following any one philosophy exclusively, we thoughtfully blend these approaches to create rich, hands-on learning experiences that nurture curiosity, creativity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Is your program academic or play-based?

Our program is intentionally play-based because young children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Through carefully planned play, exploration, and teacher-guided activities, children build strong foundations in literacy, math, science, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills while developing the confidence and independence they need for kindergarten and beyond.

How often do you read to the children?

As often as possible. Our younger children enjoy a morning group time with a story, while our older children gather for morning and afternoon group times, each with a story.  We have a reading nook that is always accessible to children and teachers can often be found there reading with small groups.  We have books at the kitchen tables in the morning, we take books outside, and we have books in the loft.

How do you support social and emotional development?

Teachers guide children in expressing and managing their emotions, building empathy, solving problems with others, and forming meaningful friendships. Through play, supportive guidance, and caring relationships, children develop the social and emotional skills that support lifelong success.
